This team has the brains and they’ve certainly got the stamina; two of the team are members of the Air Training Corps and three are taking A-Levels a year early! They say they’re “not afraid to take risks”, but do they have The Edge?
In their own words, the team from Brighton College are “fun, inspiring and adrenalised.” They certainly aren’t camera shy, and even use hat choreography to represent their teamwork!
This team took on the spirit of TV shows ‘Risking it all’ and ‘Dragon’s Den’, to produce an entertaining Videos which involved a team member turning a pile of raw materials into a sculpture. They also showed their social consciousness by cleaning up their local woods. Warm-hearted dragons indeed.
This team is ‘Ace at Enterprise’ — they staged a game of ‘Play Your Cards Right’ to show their massive support within the school, and created comedy sketches to demonstrate they don’t miss opportunities.
Portsmouth Pride wrote to the 10 most influential people they knew and asked for their support in The Edge. From the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth to the MD of British Aerospace, they all said yes! They even kidnapped Fred Dinenage of How 2 fame to make their video audition.
Forest team filmed their audition like a news report, with on-location reporters interviewing team members and teachers. The video, filming and editing was all undertaken by the boys themselves.
Team GO (Gifted Oxfordshire) Enterprises use comedy sketches which parody their individual team members, but also clearly demonstrate their individual skills and commitment as a team. The team has designed their very own team logo and have a motto: “on our own we are unique, together we are invincible.”
This team stated ten reasons why they have The Edge. These included pupil-led initiatives at their school such as a Breakfast Club, a mentoring scheme, an acting group and a web club which makes sure “the whole world is watching and doesn’t miss out on [our] school”.
